Discontentment!.........WHY?
A young boy was sad. He was sitting under the tree where he regularly comes and talks out all his problems and how he is not able to cope up with them.
His list of problems went on... till it was almost dark.
He was tired and cried out, Is there no one to listen to me and to my problems.
An old woman came out from the dark and said, What do you want?
Boy was stunned to see her and later he said, Give me something to be away from my problems.
Old woman said, Take this woolen ball. Unwind it and cut the piece of wool, when there is a problem. Your problems will be solved.
The boy tried it and found that it worked.
Time rolled out and one fine day, a man was seen near the tree with the woolen ball in his hands.
He was calm, but looked dissatisfied.
He waited without talking but had lots of unanswered questions.
Finally it was dark, the old woman came out and asked, What is your complaint NOW?
The man asked, I have solved every problem with this woolen ball. There seems to be no problem now. But... at last I feel, I have missed something, I am not happy, Why is it so?
The old woman replied,
You will appreciate light only after having gone through the darkness.
* Your problems were solved without going through them, how could you enjoy the result.
* You didnt struggle to achieve anything, so how can anything be precious to you.
* You learn from the problems you faced, and do better further, but where have you learnt anything as problem was eliminated.
* This is why life was so tasteless for you though you felt you have done everything.
dissatisfaction is the result of your ambition to jump over difficulties and escape them.
* Problems need to be dealt with and solutions to be searched out. And she left.
The man thought of giving this woolen ball to a needy but now decided to throw it into a pond.
He knew the reason for his unrest, now he is equipped and ever-ready to face the world with a new approach and attitude.

The professionalism & bold character of military
After getting freedom, a meeting was organized to select the first General of the Indian Army. Jawahar Lal Nehru was heading that meeting. Leaders and Army officers were discussing to whom this responsibility should be given.
In between the discussion Nehru said, "I think we should appoint a British officer as a General of Indian Army as we don't have enough experience to lead the same." Everybody supported Nehru because if the PM was suggesting something, how could they not agree?
But one of the army officers abruptly said, "I have a point, sir."Nehru said, "Yes, gentleman. You are free to speak." He said ,"You see, sir, we don't have enough experience to lead a nation too, so shouldn't we appoint a British person as first PM of India?"
The meeting hall suddenly went quiet. Then, Nehru said, "Are you ready to be the first General of the Indian Army ?" He got a golden chance to accept the offer but he refused the same and said, "Sir, we have a very talented army officer, my senior, Lt. Gen. Cariappa, who is the most deserving among us." The army officer who raised his voice against the PM was Lt. General Nathu Singh Rathore, the 1st Lt. General of the Indian Army.
That is the professionalism and character the military is made of .................

Please create awareness about it
Yesterday only I came to know of a case from a friend of mine which is very scary. One of his friends was traveling to UK via Dubai . Unfortunately he was carrying a packet of Khas Khas which is a commonly used spice in some Indian curries and sweets. Khas Khas is also known as poppy seed which can be sprouted to grow narcotics (afeem etc.).
This innocent person did not know that recently the laws in UAE and other Gulf countries have been revised and carrying Khas Khas is punishable with minimum 20 years of imprisonment or even worse with death penalty. Currently, the person is in a jail in Dubai for the last two weeks. His friends are frantically trying hard for his release but are finding that this has become a very very serious case. Lawyers are asking huge fees amounting to AED 100,000 even to appear in the court to plead for his innocence.
Please forward this email to all you know specially in India . They should know the seriousness of this matter and should never ever carry even minutest quantities of the following items when traveling to Gulf countries:
1. Khas Khas whether raw, roasted or cooked.
2. Paan
3. Beetle nut (supari and its products, e.g. Paan Parag etc.)
The penalties are very severe and it could destroy the life of an innocent person.
I appeal you to create the awareness by spreading this information all you know.

A PRAISE CAN DO WONDERS
THAT PAPER
After a war, martyr soldiers’ bodies were sent to their homeland.
Many people had come to see a soldier’s body kept in a coffin open.
He looked relaxed, content, and proud to give away his life for a noble cause.
His friends, relatives, and many others came to pay homage for his magnificent service.
His primary school teacher too had come there. As she was one of those who came early, she was given a small piece of paper that was kept in his Wallet.
It was very old and contained some writings that were getting feeble over time.
She recollected the incident of her class, an activity she got it done in their class.
The students were asked to write one good quality of each one in their class.
The teacher then took efforts to re-write all the qualities written by each student about every individual, making sure to write who wrote that.
This was given to each student to know what quality in him classmates praise individually.
All students were happy to see 27 praises from a class of 28.
The teacher completed her activity hoping to boost the morale of each child.
Tears rolled in her eyes but out of gratification that this small piece of paper was kept with him till the end.
Another person, the soldier’s friend recognized his teacher and showed his piece of paper kept carefully in his briefcase.
A woman came closer to them and told that her husband too kept that paper very carefully and reads it whenever he feels lonely.
And the place saw many such people come with that paper, and....All 27!
That paper had bonded them forever and had become a precious gift ever from their teacher.

Please take time to read!! Very important!!!
Dear loving friends!!!!!!!
It is a forwarded message but let us learn something from this and tell others.
A good friend of ours in Mequon lost their 25 year old son (Arun Gopal Ratnam) in a fire at home June 4th.
This is what happened. He graduated with MBA from University of Wisconsin-Madison two weeks earlier and came home. Had a lunch with his dad at home and decided to go back to clean up his room at school. Father told him to wait and see his mother before he goes back for a few days.
He decided to take a nap while waiting for his mom to come home from work.
Neighbours called 911 when they saw black smoke coming out of the house. Their 25 year old son Arun died in the three year old house. It took several days of investigation to find out the cause of the fire.
It was determined that the fire was caused by lap top in the bed.
When the lap top is on the bed cooling fan does not get air to cool the computer and that is what caused the fire.
He did not even wake up to get out of the bed he died of carbon monoxide (CO).
The reason I'm writing this to all of you is that I have seen all of us using our lap top in bed. Let us all decide and make it a practise not to do that. Risk is real. Let us make it a rule not to use lap top in bed or put computer on bed with blankets and pillows around.
Broadcast this message & you may save others!!
Dear loving friends,
I also would like to add something to it. Charging on bed not even on cushioned chair (charging mobile phone, charging camera battery or any other charging devices ) is not at all safe and not recommended.
Please remember,
CHARGER can not recognise the place but we can.
Charge the devices always in a safe and solid place.
So take care next time while charging electronic devices. bye

So take care next time while charging electronic devices. bye

POWER OF POSITIVE TALK
I remember my dad teaching me the power of language at a very young age. Not only did my dad understand that specific words affect our mental pictures, but he understood words are a powerful programming factor in lifelong success.
One particularly interesting event occurred when I was eight. As a kid, I was always climbing trees, poles, and literally hanging around upside down from the rafters of our lake house. So, it came to no surprise for my dad to find me at the top of a 30-foot tree swinging back and forth. My little eight-year-old brain didn't realize the tree could break or I could get hurt. I just thought it was fun to be up so high.
My older cousin, Tammy, was also in the same tree. She was hanging on the first big limb, about ten feet below me. Tammy's mother also noticed us at the exact time my dad did. About that time a huge gust of wind came over the tree. I could hear the leaves start to rattle and the tree begin to sway. I remember my dad's voice over the wind yell, "Bart, Hold on tightly." So I did. The next thing I know, I heard Tammy screaming at the top of her lungs, laying flat on the ground. She had fallen out of the tree.
I scampered down the tree to safety. My dad later told me why she fell and I did not. Apparently, when Tammy's mother felt the gust of wind, she yelled out, "Tammy, don't fall!" And Tammy did fall.
My dad then explained to me that the mind has a very difficult time processing a negative image. In fact, people who rely on internal pictures cannot see a negative at all. In order for Tammy to process the command of not falling, her nine-year-old brain had to first imagine falling, then try to tell the brain not to do what it just imagined. Whereas, my eight-year-old brain instantly had an internal image of me hanging on tightly.
This concept is especially useful when you are attempting to break a habit or set a goal. You can't visualize not doing something. The only way to properly visualize not doing something is to actually find a word for what you want to do and visualize that. For example, when I was thirteen years old, I played for my junior high school football team. I tried so hard to be good, but I just couldn't get it together at that age. I remember hearing the words run through my head as I was running out for a pass, "Don't drop it!" Naturally, I dropped the ball.
My coaches were not skilled enough to teach us proper "self-talk." They just thought some kids could catch and others couldn't. I'll never make it pro, but I'm now a pretty good Sunday afternoon football player, because all my internal dialogue is positive and encourages me to win. I wish my dad had coached me playing football instead of just climbing trees. I might have had a longer football career.
Here is a very easy demonstration to teach your kids and your friends the power of a toxic vocabulary. Ask them to hold a pen or pencil. Hand it to them. Now, follow my instructions carefully. Say to them, "Okay, try to drop the pencil." Observe what they do.
Most people release their hands and watch the pencil hit the floor. You respond, "You weren't paying attention. I said TRY to drop the pencil. Now please do it again." Most people then pick up the pencil and pretend to be in excruciating pain while their hand tries but fails to drop the pencil.
The point is made.
If you tell your brain you will "give it a try," you are actually telling your brain to fail. I have a "no try" rule in my house and with everyone I interact with. Either people will do it or they won't. Either they will be at the party or they won't. I'm brutal when people attempt to lie to me by using the word try. Do they think I don't know they are really telegraphing to the world they have no intention of doing it but they want me to give them brownie points for pretended effort? You will never hear the words "I'll try" come out of my mouth unless I'm teaching this concept in a seminar.
If you "try" and do something, your unconscious mind has permission not to succeed. If I truly can't make a decision I will tell the truth. "Sorry John. I'm not sure if I will be at your party or not. I've got an outstanding commitment. If that falls through, I will be here. Otherwise, I will not. Thanks for the invite."
People respect honesty. So remove the word "try" from your vocabulary.
My dad also told me that psychologists claim it takes seventeen positive statements to offset one negative statement. I have no idea if it is true, but the logic holds true. It might take up to seventeen compliments to offset the emotional damage of one harsh criticism.
These are concepts that are especially useful when raising children.
Ask yourself how many compliments you give yourself daily versus how many criticisms. Heck, I know you are talking to yourself all day long. We all have internal voices that give us direction.
So, are you giving yourself the 17:1 ratio or are you shortchanging yourself with toxic self-talk like, " I'm fat. Nobody will like me. I'll try this diet. I'm not good enough. I'm so stupid. I'm broke, etc. etc." If our parents can set a lifetime of programming with one wrong statement, imagine the kind of programming you are doing on a daily basis with your own internal dialogue. Here is a list of Toxic Vocabulary words.
Notice when you or other people use them.
But: Negates any words that are stated before it.
Try: Presupposes failure.
If: Presupposes that you may not.
Might: It does nothing definite. It leaves options for your listener.
Would Have: Past tense that draws attention to things that didn't actually happen.
Should Have: Past tense that draws attention to things that didn't actually happen (and implies guilt.)
Could Have: Past tense that draws attention to things that didn't actually happen but the person tries to take credit as if it did happen.
Can't/Don't: These words force the listener to focus on exactly the opposite of what you want. This is a classic mistake that parents and coaches make without knowing the damage of this linguistic error.
Examples: Toxic phrase: "Don't drop the ball!"
Likely result: Drops the ball
Better language: "Catch the ball!"
Toxic phrase: "You shouldn't watch so much television."
Likely result: Watches more television.
Better language: "I read too much television makes people stupid. You might find yourself turning that TV off and picking up one of those books more often!
Exercise: Take a moment to write down all the phrases you use on a daily basis or any Toxic self-talk that you have noticed yourself using. Write these phrases down so you will begin to catch yourself as they occur and change them.

Five Critical Factors of Career Success
What skills do employers value and seek in potential employees? That was the question posted to hiring managers, and the feedback might surprise you! Below are the most common skills mentioned, whether the employee happens to be a manager, network engineer, or a cook.
In-Demand Skills for Success:
PERSONAL SKILLS: Can a potential employee speak well? Can he/she answer questions of customers in a positive, informative manner? While not everyone has an outgoing sales personality, successful employees can communicate in a non-confrontational, positive manner with their coworkers, subordinates, managers, and customers. Being able to work well with others is a vital skill for success in all jobs.
JOB ATTAINMENT: Job search is a process that requires a great deal of dedication and attention to be conducted successfully. If you put in little effort, you will receive little results. Employers are seeking employees who know how to present themselves in a positive manner and who display enthusiasm and knowledge about the companies they approach. Not only do candidates get evaluated on their skills and experience, but also on how they are approaching the job search. Enthusiastic candidates that follow up and show true interest will win success above equally qualified candidates.
JOB SURVIVAL: Now there's a hot topic in this period of layoffs! True, who gets the ax and who doesn't is often a matter of numbers, but it is also often a matter of performance. Employees who have consistently demonstrated their worth and made themselves a valuable asset have lower incidences of being downsized than employees who put forth average effort. Surviving in a company during layoffs is a skill that makes a candidate stand out among peers.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Successful individuals are constantly attending seminars, taking classes, attaining training, and otherwise learning new skills that will keep them marketable in their careers. Successful people are lifelong learners. Employers are looking for people who understand this.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT: Career Development differs from Professional Development. Professional Development is learning while Career Development is a planning and goal setting process. Successful individuals design a career plan with written goals for short term and long term. They lay out the steps needed to move their careers from Point A to Point B within Time Frame C and plan how they are going to achieve those steps. Employers seek individuals who (believe it or not) wish to commit to the company for a long period of time. Good career progression is a high selling point of candidates to prospective employers.

Cherish Your 'Aloneness'
SWAMI BRAHMDEV, Jun 18, 2010, 12.01am IST
Billions of people live on earth. Every second, as many thoughts take birth and dissolve, even as beings come and go. There is a process in life: to come and to go. Have you seen any wave in the ocean that stays still? No, it comes and goes. Thoughts also come and go, reactions come and go, everything comes and goes.
Considering the transitory nature of life, it makes sense to not cling to things. And why are we so serious? Perhaps we are so serious because we have so much negativity. Even if something happens that helps us, that brings us prosperity, we think negative and we refuse it. We are unable to see the difference between a diamond and mere stone.
What causes you pain often turns out to be the most beautiful blessing of your life. If any source gives you pain, feel gratitude for that. For suffering creates the opportunity for change. Sometimes we need pressure and pain to make us change for the better.
When a sculptor takes a stone, he removes all the unwanted parts and discovers the figure in that stone. Pain and pressure in life are processes that help remove all unwanted substances from our lives and realise our true Self.
Aurobindo said that pain is a hammer in the hands of the Divine. Divinity is trying to make a true figure; He is removing all the unwanted substances very slowly, and all around you, for some it could also be their near and dear.
Keep alive your aloneness. We came from One and we have to become One. One is alone; alone means One. The highest possibilities of life can come in aloneness. When you are two, nothing comes to you, two is a pastime. If our life is happy, if it is full of the divine blessings, blessed by divine grace, it is because life gives us the fruit of aloneness. Only the Divine is alone. The Divine is one, He's not two.
We should feel gratitude if something or someone gives us the experience of aloneness. Only when we are alone, are we able to understand ourselves, to know who we are, to become aware of ourselves, to see the value of our lives. But we are always afraid of aloneness. Nobody wants to be alone, to be single; we want to become two, and two takes you out from you. Becoming one is a process of life.
When i say, "I do yoga," what does yoga mean? To become One. You are two and now you want to become one. Yoga means to become One and One is God, One is the highest source of possibilities. If you want only a pastime you can become two, three or four.
If we feel alone, we should try to live with this aloneness for a long time. When we live with this and the seed of aloneness is established in us, a beautiful tree comes out. And the tree that comes from the seed of aloneness gives us love, peace, harmony, joy, bliss, everything.
But we have to hold this aloneness with all the patience. Remember that we are blessed with divine grace if aloneness comes into our life, because this comes to very few people. This world is so strange that it always keeps us involved, always busy. So keep alive your aloneness and play the game of life with that.

Men & Women, Sons & Daughters - should read this...
BEING A MOTHER....
After 17 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to
take another woman out to dinner and a movie. She
said, I love you, but I know this other woman loves
you and would love to spend some time with you.
* * *
The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit
was my MOTHER, who has been alone for 20 years,
but the demands of my work and my two boys had
made it possible to visit her only occasionally.
That night I called to invite her to go out for
dinner and a movie.
What's wrong, aren't you well, she asked?
My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a
late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign
of bad news.
I thought it would be pleasant to spend some
time with you, I responded. Just the two of us.
She thought about it for a moment, and then said,
I would like that very much.
That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick
her up I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her
house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be nervous
about our date. She waited in the door. She had curled her hair and was wearing the
dress that she had worn to celebrate her last
birthday on November 19th.
She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an
angel's. I told my friends that I was going to go
out with my son, and they were impressed, she said,
as she got into that new white van. They can't wait to hear about our date.
We went to a restaurant that, although not
elegant, was very nice and cozy... My mother took my
arm as if she were the First Lady. After we sat
down, I had to read the menu. Her eyes could only
read large print. Half way through the entries, I
lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at
me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips. It was I
who used to have to read the menu when you were
small, she said. Then it's time that you relax and
let me return the favor, I responded.
During the dinner, we had an agreeable
conversation- -nothing extraordinary but catching up
on recent events of each other's life. We talked so
much that we missed the movie.
As we arrived at her house later, she said,
I'll go out with you again, but only if you let me
invite you. I agreed.
* * *
How was your dinner date?
asked my wife when I got home.
Very nice, Much more so than I could have imagined,
I answered.
A few days later, my mother died of a massive
heart attack. It happened so suddenly that I didn't
have a chance to do anything for her.
Some time later, I received an envelope with a
copy of a restaurant receipt from the same place
mother and I had dined. An attached note said: I
paid this bill in advance. I wasn't sure that I
could be there; but nevertheless, I paid for two
plates - one for you and the other for your wife.
You will never know what that night meant for me.
I love you, son.
At that moment, I understood the importance of
saying in time: I LOVE YOU and to give our loved
ones the time that they deserve... Give them the time
they deserve, because these things cannot be put off
till some other time.

How to achieve good vision
while driving during a heavy rainfall.
We are not sure why it is so effective just try this method when it rains heavily. This method was told by a Police friend who had experienced and confirmed it.
It is useful...even driving at night.
Most of the motorists would turn on HIGH or FASTEST SPEED of the wipers during heavy downpour, yet the visibility in front of the windscreen is still bad......
In the event you face such a situation, just try your SUN GLASSES (any model will do), and miracle! All of a sudden, your visibility in front of your windscreen is perfectly clear, as if there is no rain.
Make sure you always have a pair of SUN GLASSES in your car, as you are not only helping yourself to drive safely with good vision, but also might save your friend's life by giving them this idea..
Try it yourself and share it with your friends! Amazing, you still see the drops on the windshield, but not the sheet of rain falling.
You can see where the rain bounces off the road.
It works to eliminate the "blindness" from passing semi's spraying you too.
Or the "kickup" if you are following a semi or car in the rain.
They ought to teach that little tip in driver's training. It really does work.
NOTE: The SUN GLASSES reduce the reflection / refraction of light through the rain drops, ergo, you see better!!

NAIL IN THE FENCE
There once was a little boy who had a bad temper.
His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper,
He must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.
The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger,
The number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.
Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.
The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.
The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence.
The fence will never be the same.
When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out.
It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there."
A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us."

7 rules of life... TRY TO APPLY ATLEAST ONE
1st
Don't let someone become a priority in your life, when you are just an option in their life.
Relationships work best when they are balanced.
2nd
Never explain yourself to anyone.
Because the person who likes you doesn't need it, and the person who d islikes you won't believe it.
3rd
When you keep saying you are busy, then you are never free.
When you keep saying you have no time, then you will never have time.
When you keep saying that you will do it tomorrow, then your tomorrow will never come.
4th
When we wake up in the morning, we have two simple choices.
Go back to sleep and dream, or wake up and chase those dreams.
Choice is yours.
5th
We make them cry who care for us.
We cry for those who never care for us.
And we care for those who will never cry for us.
This is the truth of life, it's strange but true. Once you realize this, it's never too late to change.
6th
Don't make promise when you are in joy.
Don't reply when you are sad.
Don't take decision when you are angry.
Think twice, act wise.
7th
Time is like river. You can't touch the same water twice,
because the flow that has passed will never pass again.
Enjoy every moment of life.

reduce weight and changing attitudes towards lifestyles.
Qn: Does dispirin or similar headache pills increase the risk of heart
attacks?
Ans : No.

for natural ways of controlling blood pressure by walk, diet to
reduce weight and changing attitudes towards lifestyles.
Qn: Does dispirin or similar headache pills increase the risk of heart
attacks?
Ans : No.
Qn: Why is the rate of heart attacks more in men than in women?

The latest Chinese hacking scare finds India’s vital organs baffled and unready

Outlook India Magazine – Issue dated 26/4/2010
It’s been a little over a year since the Indian army discovered one of its gravest cyber security lapses. The attack, which had its origins in China, was never publicised and didn’t figure in any internal report. But the damage was immense, say sources familiar with the breach of India’s military and security establishments.
“We never keep anything sensitive on a computer that is connected to the internet,” an officer with the Army Cyber Security Establishment told Outlook. But this one was different. The Chinese hackers developed Trojan virus software that downloaded on to a pen drive. Here’s how it worked: an officer connected the pen drive to a computer connected to the Net, infecting the pen drive. He then used the infected pen drive on a computer not connected to the Net. The malicious software immediately downloaded itself onto the hard drive, collected a lot of sensitive files and waited for the pen drive to be reconnected.
“When the drive would be connected to a computer with internet connectivity,” the officer explained, “it would immediately begin transmitting all the sensitive files back to a secure server.” This continued for months and several unconnected computers at the army headquarters were infected before the cyber security cell got alerted. “By then we did not have a clue about how much we had lost. And it was some pretty sensitive stuff,” said the officer.

Five Critical Factors of Career Success
Good career progression is a high selling point of candidates to prospective employers.

worth reading
This is very valuable information & worth reading.
Valuable Piece of information
Let's say it's 6..15p m and you're going home (alone of
course), after an unusually hard day on the job.
You're really tired, upset and frustrated...
Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your
chest that starts to adiate out into your arm and up
into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the
hospital nearest your home. Unfortunately you don't
know if you'll be able to make it that far. You have
been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the
course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself.
HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE
Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart
attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating
improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only
about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
However, these victims can help themselves by coughing
repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should
be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep
and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep
inside the chest.
A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two
seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until
the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing
movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood
circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also
helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart
attack victims can get to a hospital. Tell as many
other people as possible about this. It could save
their lives!!
A cardiologist says If everyone who gets this mail
sends it to 10 people, you can bet that we'll save at
least one life.

Hello Friends,
You must have seen many school dropout children in your society, what is the future you are expecting for them? As you are aware tomorrows world is of skilled labour & multitasky people. One will not be able to earn bread without education and technical skills. India has the largest youth population in the world. How many of them do you think are skilled and educated? If educated, to what level? How is their formal education going to help them?
Let us talk about the effects of leaving dropouts to their fate. They have to work as unskilled labour with less salary, which would not be sufficient for survival, especially for the urban residents. Studies show that many are psychologically not prepared to take up unskilled profession. Rather than working as unskilled labour they prefer to indulge in fast growth. And the way chosen for it is robbery, malpractices and other illegal activities. To discuss, many ill effects are there of dropouts and unskilled labour in the society.
To know the solution for overcoming this problem let us first find out reasons for dropping out of schools and colleges. Few reasons are some students do not understand or are not interested in certain subjects like maths, science, languages etc. They do not give attention to them and simply fail in their exams. In some cases their abilities are not properly identified and they are put in wrong streams. For example, a student who is good at social sciences is asked to study technical courses, which he may not like and there lies a chance of failing or dropping out of it. After few years when one lags behind slowly looses interest and goes into depression without knowing what to do next.
This shows that there is an urgent need to put the dropouts back on track. The track can be of both academic education and technical education. Government of India has a very good scheme under Sarva Siksha Abhiyaan and it is called National Open School. A dropout above 14 years of age is eligible for Xth standard exam and has to study only 5 subjects of ones choice. Weekly 3 classes are conducted in various centres of Hyderabad/Secunderabad. The fees is Rs.1200/- inclusive of study material, contact classes and exam fee.
If u come across school droupouts kindly motivate them by providing the above information, the admission for the academic year 2010-11 will close in the month of August, 2010. Address of the National Open School centres in India can be located on internet.
